magic win

The Mumbai Indians suffered their third consecutive defeat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, losing to the Rajasthan Royals on Monday.

Hardik has yet to win a match for the Mumbai Indians since taking over as captain. He looked in good form with the bat against the Royals, but he couldn’t turn his cameo into a big hit.

As MI suffered yet another defeat in the ongoing campaign, Hardik took to social media to share an encouraging message.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Mumbai Indians captain wrote: “If there’s one thing you should know about this team, it’s that we never give up. We’re going to keep fighting.”

Hardik’s post is a fiery message to fans who have already given up on the Mumbai Indians’ chances of success this year.

After the game, Hardik admitted that his wicket swung the game in Rajasthan’s favor.

“Yes, it was a tough night; we did not get off to the best start. I wanted to counter, and we were in a good position to get to 150-160, but my wicket allowed them to get back into the game, so I needed to do a lot more.

It’s fine; we didn’t expect such a surface, but you can’t always have it as a batter; it’s nice for the bowlers to have a say.

“It’s all about doing the right things; (correct) results happen sometimes, but not always. We believe we can do much better as a group, but we need to be a little more disciplined and courageous,” Hardik said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

With three losses in as many matches, Mumbai is at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table.
