The BCCI rescheduled the Gujarat Titans-Delhi Capitals fixture in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, without providing a reason for the change.

The PTI reported on Monday that the KKR-RR tie in the 2024 Indian Premier League would be rescheduled due to Ram Navami, but the Board did not provide any reason for the rescheduling of matches on these two dates.

“The match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals, which was originally scheduled for April 17, 2024, at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, will now be played one day earlier, on April 16, 2024.

“The Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals were originally scheduled to play on April 16, 2024, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.” The match has been rescheduled for April 17, 2024, according to the BCCI statement.

It was learned that Kolkata Police expressed an inability to provide adequate security cover for KKR’s third home game of the 17th IPL season, which will take place just three days after they host the Lucknow Super Giants.

Bengal is also scheduled to vote on April 19 in the first phase of the seven-phase general election. Voting in Kolkata will take place on June 1.

The CAB had suggested that the match be moved up a day (16 April) or pushed back 24 hours to 18 April.

KKR is currently in Visakhapatnam for a game against the Delhi Capitals on Wednesday.
