magic win

Devon Conway, a New Zealand batter for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), will miss the rest of this season’s Indian Premier League (IPL) due to injury. Conway had missed the first six CSK games due to injury, leaving his participation in the tournament uncertain.

However, the opening batter has been ruled out for the entire season. CSK has named Richard Gleeson, a veteran England pacer, as his replacement.

“Devon Conway has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 due to an injury,” the IPL announced in a statement on Thursday.

Conway has been with CSK for the past two seasons, helping them win the title last year. He played 23 games and scored 924 runs, including nine half-centuries and a highest score of 92 not out.

In contrast, Gleeson, 36, has yet to experience IPL cricket. In 2022, he made his England debut at 35 in a T20I against India, dismissing Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant to finish with 3/15.

He has played six T20Is for England.

“CSK has added Richard Gleeson to their squad for the remainder of the IPL 2024. Gleeson has played six Twenty20 Internationals for England and taken nine wickets. In addition, Gleeson has played 90 T20s and taken 101 wickets. “He will join CSK for his reserve price of Rs 50 lac,” the statement continued.

Meanwhile, CSK is third in the points table, having won four of six matches.
