The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer, who has already been penalized twice by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for on-field celebrations, couldn’t resist doing it again in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against the Lucknow Super Giants.
Rana was recently fined 100% of his match fee as well as a one-match suspension for violating the IPL code of conduct. The uncapped Indian didn’t go overboard with his celebration against LSG, but he did manage to ‘tease’ the IPL’s officials.

Fans interpreted Harshit’s celebration in the match against the Lucknow franchise as ‘teasing’ the BCCI. The pacer kept a finger on his mouth, and KKR decided to share the photo on social media.
Previously, the BCCI imposed a severe punishment on Rana for his extravagant celebration on the field during the match against the Delhi Capitals.
“Mr Harshit Rana, bowler, Kolkata Knight Riders, has been fined 100 per cent of his match fees and suspended for one match for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during Match 47 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Delhi Capitals at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on April 29, 2024,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced.
The KKR pacer was found guilty of a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct. Rana admitted to the offense and accepted the punishment.
“Rana committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offense and accepted the match referee’s decision. The match referee’s decision on Level 1 Code of Conduct violations is final and binding,” the statement continued.
“The player was earlier penalised under the same level and article of the IPL Code of Conduct,” the statement said.
It is unclear whether the BCCI will take Harshit Rana’s celebration against the Super Giants seriously and punish him further.
