International players from Pakistan, the West Indies, and England have all made significant progress in the final update of the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings before of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
While inclement weather has disrupted portions of England’s home series against Pakistan, players from both sides have made advances on the most recent rankings update, just days before the T20 World Cup begins in the West Indies and the United States.
England skipper Jos Buttler moves up one spot to seventh in the latest T20I batter rankings following his brilliant innings of 84 in Birmingham, while teammate Jonny Bairstow advances eight places to 36th following his knock of 21 in the same game.
Fakhar Zaman top-scored for Pakistan in that match, and the dashing left-hander has risen six places to 51st after scoring 45 runs off only 21 deliveries against England.
Brandon King (up five spots to eighth), Johnson Charles (up 17 places to 20th), and Kyle Mayers (up 12 rungs to 31st) are all making significant inroads on the T20I batter rankings following impressive performances.
Men’s T20I Batter Rankings:
Teammate Gudakesh Motie was named Player of the Series for his eight wickets against the Proteas, and the left-arm spinner is the big winner in the new T20I bowling rankings, rising from outside the top 100 to 27th overall.
Men’s Twenty20 International Bowler Rankings
Reece Topley of England moves up one rank to ninth on the list of T20I bowlers, while Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi (up three spots to joint 11th), Haris Rauf (up two places to 25th), and Imad Wasim (up 14 rungs to 38th) also gain ground based on recent efforts with the ball.
Suryakumar Yadav of India will start the T20 World Cup as the top-ranked T20I batsman, while England’s Adil Rashid will start as the top-ranked T20I bowler.
