magic win

When Cristiano Ronaldo scored goals for the 34th and 35th times in Al Nassr’s season-ending match, he broke the record for the most goals in a Saudi Pro League season.
“I don’t keep track of the records; the records come to me,” the 39 year old Portuguese forward, stated on Twitter subsequently.

On Monday, Al Nassr overcame Al Ittihad 4-2 at home thanks to goals from the former Real Madrid and Manchester United player in stoppage time in the first half and again in the 69th minute with a header.

Al Nassr were already assured of second place, trailing winners Al Hilal by 14 points.

Ronaldo signed Riyadh-based Al Nassr in December 2022, marking the beginning of an invasion of foreign players to the Saudi league on costly contracts.

Ronaldo, who led Portugal to victory at the 2016 Euros, has been included to the squad for this year’s tournament in Germany next month, his 11th international appearance.

He is the most capped player in men’s international football, having made 206 games and scoring a record 128 goals.
