England offered no resistance on the third day of the fifth Test against India, and the hosts cruised to a comfortable victory. After England won the first Test, India responded with vengeance and established their authority.
Despite winning the first Test, England’s performance has deteriorated. That victory prompted England legend Geoffrey Boycott to criticise a ‘aged’ Rohit Sharma.
That comment did not go well with Indian social media users, especially given his recent good form, which has seen him score two tons in the series.
“Their captain, Rohit Sharma, is nearly 37 and past his prime. He makes impressive cameos, but he has only scored two Test hundreds at home in four years.
They are also inadequate in the field. This India team is ripe for the taking, and England has a fantastic opportunity to become the first team in 12 years to defeat them at home. India badly misses Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja has a hamstring injury and will miss the second Test,” Boycott wrote in his Telegraph column.

After that statement, Indian captain Rohit Sharma scored 2 centuries and 1 half-century.

“India is due a defeat at home. The signs are good, as they have lost Kohli, Jadeja, Mohammad Shami, and Rishabh Pant and are facing opponents who are full of confidence after a remarkable victory. “England must seize this rare opportunity.”
Following Rohit Sharma’s second ton of the series on Friday, fans took to the internet to criticize the legend.
After a disappointing first two Tests, the Indian captain has been outstanding with the bat in the second half of the series.
Rohit has 400 runs in five matches and nine innings at an average of 44.44, including two centuries and a fifty. His highest score is 131. He has the fourth-highest run total in the series.
