Defending Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly eyeing Copenhagen striker Orri Oskarsson as a potential backup for Erling Haaland following the departure of Julian Alvarez. The 19-year-old Icelandic forward, who scored seven goals in 11 appearances last season, is expected to leave his current club before the summer transfer window closes, attracting interest from several European teams.

While Manchester City admires Oskarsson, the club is not expected to pursue his signing as they are content with their current squad, according to The Athletic. The young striker has a reported price tag of 20 million euros, and besides City, other Premier League teams, along with Porto and Real Sociedad, are also said to be interested in him.

Additionally, Manchester City is rumored to have an interest in Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi. Despite the departure of Alvarez to Atletico Madrid, Pep Guardiola has indicated that while the club might consider signing a forward before the transfer window ends, he is currently satisfied with the quality of his squad.

“I’m very pleased with the quality they have as human beings and as players,” Guardiola stated. “Maybe in other years, I would have said ‘No chance’ (of new signings), but perhaps this season something might happen until the end of the market. We have to talk and see what happens.”
