Rinku Singh, a Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter, has been with the same Indian Premier League (IPL) side for seven years. Rinku began to show his true talent a few seasons ago, winning matches for KKR and earning an India call-up due to his consistency. Rinku remains on India’s T20 World Cup 2024 roster, although as a reserve. Despite being one of India’s best T20 finishers, Rinku earns only 55 lakh at KKR. His IPL partner Mitchell Starc, on the other hand, earns a staggering Rs 24.75 crore.
If Rinku decides to leave KKR and enters the auction pool, even a Rs 10 crore price may not be sufficient to sign him. When asked about his low income at KKR, Rinku provided the ideal example of his mindset, stating that even 50-55 lakh is a lot for him.
“Even 50 to 55 lakhs is a lot. When I first started, I had no idea I would make so much money. At the time, I was a child, and I assumed that if I received even 10-5 rupees, I would acquire it somehow. Now I’m earning 55 lakh rupees, which is a lot; I should be content with whatever God offers me. This is my thinking. I do not think I should have received this or that amount of money. I am overjoyed even with 55 lakh rupees. “When I didn’t have this, I realized how valuable money is,” Rinku told Dainik Jagaran in an interview.
Rinku is not the type of guy who believes in running after money. He emphasized, like a saint, that people come and go in the same manner, with no money in their pockets. As a result, maintaining a solid foundation is critical.
“If I give you the truth today, then everything is an illusion. You did not bring anything, and you will not take anything with you. You never know when the moment will change. I’d want to suggest that you have to return the same way you came. Rinku responded, “Stay grounded, what else?”
