Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant might depart from the Delhi Capitals before the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, according to a report by Dainik Jagran. Despite being the franchise’s most experienced player and top run-scorer, Pant may not be retained by Delhi Capitals before the mega auction, even with the backing of Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly. Should Pant be released, he is likely to join Chennai Super Kings, who are actively seeking a new Indian wicket-keeper as MS Dhoni approaches retirement.
In other IPL news, Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube has praised the league for enhancing his skills and building his confidence. Dube, who was the second-highest run-scorer for Chennai Super Kings with 396 runs at an impressive strike rate of 162.29, earned a spot in India’s 15-member T20 World Cup squad. He played a key role throughout the tournament, including a crucial innings of 27 runs in the final against South Africa, contributing to India’s second T20 World Cup victory. Dube highlighted that the IPL provides an excellent platform for young talent to shine alongside top players, and has been a significant factor in his development and confidence, as he shared with IANS.
