India strengthened their position at the top of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 standings with a commanding win over Bangladesh in the second Test in Kanpur on Tuesday. Despite rain and wet outfield conditions affecting the first three days, India managed to dismiss Bangladesh twice and put in an aggressive batting display to secure the victory. With this win, India now has a PCT of 74.24, maintaining their lead. Australia sits second with 62.50, and Sri Lanka follows in third with a PCT of 55.56.

Pakistan is near the bottom in ninth place with a PCT of 19.05, while the West Indies are last with 18.52.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored another half-century as India chased down 95 runs to win the rain-hit second Test by seven wickets, completing a 2-0 series sweep. After dismissing Bangladesh for 146 in their second innings, thanks to Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah each taking three wickets, India reached the target in 17.2 overs, with Jaiswal contributing 51 and Kohli remaining unbeaten on 29.

Ashwin (3/50), Jadeja (3/34), and Bumrah (3/17) dismantled Bangladesh’s batting lineup, limiting them to just 120 runs added to their overnight score of 26/2. Shadman Islam top-scored for Bangladesh with 50 runs in the second innings.

India had earlier declared at 285/9 after bowling out Bangladesh for 233 in their first innings, in a match where two full days were lost due to a wet outfield.
